PUBLIC SPEAKING TRAINING Q&A
What specific areas of public speaking do you specialize in?
I specialise in high‑stakes formats where presence and clarity matter most: keynote talks, corporate presentations, and media appearances. I concentrate on giving my clients a succinct voice with honed technique and precise content.
Do you offer coaching for individuals who have a severe fear of public speaking or performance anxiety?
I have spent over 40 years honing this craft as public speaking remains one of the toughest arenas for professionals. That’s why I specialise in it. I know how to take people from tension and uncertainty to clarity, confidence, and real presence.
Can you help with the actual writing and structuring of my speech, or do you only focus on delivery?
Every line my clients deliver should land with weight, clarity, and purpose – the kind of insight that stays with the audience long after the presentation ends. The script is built to ensure exactly that and is written inside the sessions.
Are your coaching sessions conducted in person, or do you offer online sessions via Zoom/Teams?
Either in groups, one on one or via Zoom/Teams/Google Meet etc.
How many sessions do I typically need to see a noticeable improvement in my speaking skills?
In my experience 2–3 sessions is enough to create a noticeable, embodied shift. Not because we rush, but because when the work is precise and centred, the changes land quickly. Most people have never actually been taught how to speak from their core, how to breathe under pressure, or how to hold a room without performing. Once those pieces click, the improvement is immediate and obvious…having said that, some clients attend 10 sessions or revisit me every time they have an important presentation to refresh or refine the way they communicate under pressure, ensuring they walk in clear, confident, and in control.
Do you provide recorded playback and critique as part of the coaching process?
Yes. We film the presentations, analyse them together, and give clear, actionable critique. Every client gets their own recording so they can review, refine, and keep improving long after the session ends.
Do you offer group workshops for corporate teams, or is the coaching strictly one-on-one?
Yes, I offer both one‑on‑one coaching and full group workshops. In fact, group training is a core part of my work. Recent clients include QBE, Westpac, UNSW, and McGrath.
Can you help me prepare for specific high-stakes events, such as a TEDx talk, a pitch deck presentation, or a wedding toast?
The short answer is yes – I can help you prepare for any high‑stakes moment, and I can do it in the same voice, cadence, and psychological architecture you use when you’re operating at your best: clear, grounded and utterly intentional.
Does the coaching cover non-verbal communication, such as body language, breath work, and vocal projection?
Absolutely. For me, the non‑verbal work is not an optional extra. It’s the spine of the work. Words are maybe sixty percent of what people feel. The rest is how you’re breathing, how your standing, how you’re holding yourself and whether your voice is coming from your centre or from your fear.
What is the process for getting started, and do you offer an initial consultation to discuss my goals?
Getting started is simple, let’s have a quick discussion, we’ll work on clarity first, then structure, then momentum. I start by understanding what is required and what this moment means, what’s at stake, and what is required in the individual process.
